To me the current BC Curriculum is good especially in contrast to former iterations of the curriculum. The curriculum provides greater emphasis on social and creative aspects of the learning process as well as giving educators more latitude in the process they take to bring their students through their learning journey. This model allows teachers more freedom to create a nurturing classroom environment and culture without being paralyzed by anxiety attributed to following a more scripted curriculum. Speaking to my father who taught in BC in the 60s and 70s he says the current curriculum is light years ahead of the regime he worked within.
